Oilers Win Fourth Straight

Findlay, OH - The University of Findlay women's basketball team defeated the Northern Michigan Wildcats in their Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) matchup on Satruday, Dec. 12. The Oilers took down the Wildcats by a 60-42 final, improving their record to 7-1 overall and 4-0 in GLIAC play. This win is the fourth straight for Findlay and also marks the 200th overall victory in the coaching career of head coach Jim Wiedie.

The Orange and Black used stifling defense to hold the Wildcats to 28% shooting, the lowest by any opponent this season. The Oilers again owned the paint, outscoring NMU 34-10 in the key.

Senior Kelsey Lewis continued her superb shooting as she shot 7-9 from the field and scored 15 points. She also grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists.

Also scoring in double-figures was sophomore Haley Horstman who dropped 14 points, had four rebounds, and four assists.

Senior Margaret Wuebker was the leading rebounder for the home team as she collected seven rebounds while teammate, freshman Anna Hintz, was close behind with six. They scored seven and nine points, respectively.

The Oilers will take to the skies as they head to Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. for their next matchup, a Thurday, Dec. 17 meeting with Saint Leo. The game will begin at 3:00pm.
