Series Information

When Wayne State comes to town, it will be the 39th meeting between the Oilers and Warriors with the first game being played in the 1990-91 season. Findlay won that game 57-48. The two teams have split all the games thus far with each winning 19, although WSU has won the last four meetings. Findlay's last win, a 67-60 victory, came in the 2012-13 season in the second round of the GLIAC tournament.

Findlay lost 93-70 on Feb. 2, 2015 when the teams met in Detroit. The Oilers, trailing by just two at halftime (39-97), were outscored 54-33 in the second half.  Ciara Geiger (17), Lacey Kessler (14), and Kelsey Lewis (10) all reached double-figures for the Oilers.

When WSU came to Findlay, they were ranked #17 and took down the Orange and Black 70-52. The first half of play was different in this game as the Warriors never trailed and took a 42-26 lead into the locker room. Geiger was the only Oilers player to reach double-figures as she scored 15 points. She also had two steals and two blocks.

Findlay

The Oilers enter the contest with an 12-8 record overall and a 7-7 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. They recently ended a five game losing streak with a dominating 78-53 victory over Malone University.

Findlay has three players scoring in double-figures and are led by sophomore Haley Horstman at 11.9 points per game. Senior Margaret Wuebker and junior Karli Bonar are scoring 11.6 and 10.6 points per game, respectively. Bonar's 56 made threes this season are the 28th best total in the country and she has helped the Oilers shoot 40.1% from deep, the fifth best mark in the country.

Freshman Anna Hintz is the team's leading rebounder with 6.3 rebounds per game. This is 16th in the GLIAC but is second among GLIAC freshman. She has 126 rebounds this season.

Wayne State

The Warriors enter the game with a 10-10 record and a 5-9 mark in GLIAC play.

For the first time since the 2012-13 season, Wayne State is without first team all-American and DII Player of the Year, Shareta Brown. Against the Oilers, Brown averaged 25 points per game. Her presence is missed in Detroit as the Warriors went from being a nationally ranked team in 2014-15 to fifth place in the GLIAC South. They are not to be overlooked, however, as they have been playing well as of late.

The Green and Gold have won three of their last four games and four of the last six. The two losses: double-overtime losses to undefeated Ashland University and 15-5 Ohio Dominican University.

WSU is led in scoring by sophomore Shannon Wilson who is scoring 13.9 points per game. Senior Ashley WIlson is averaging 12.7 and senior Brittany Streetman is scoring 12.3. Wilson is the team's leading rebounder at 6.6 rebounds per game while Streetman is collecting 2.2 steals per contest.

The Warriors defense has been solid all year as they are holding opponents to 38.9% from the floor, the second best in the conference. They are third in the GLIAC in offensive rebounds as they are pulling in 12.8 offensive rebounds per game.

Bombs Away

Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 187 career three pointers at Findlay, the third best mark in school history. She is chasing former UF star Maggie Gompers for second place on the all-time list. Gompers canned 206 three pointers for the Oilers from 2007-10.

Bonar has made four or more threes in seven of the Oilers 18 games this season. Her season high was Jan. 21 vs. Ashland when she nailed six from deep.

Bonar broke the school record for most made three pointers in a season last year with 71. She bettered the mark of 68, which was set by Maggie Gompers during the 2008-09 campaign. Bonar currently has 53 made threes this year, best in the conference.

In high school at Shadyside, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).

Chasing 1,000 Career Points

Senior forward Margaret Wuebker is looking to become the Oilers 20th member of the 1,000-point club this season. Wuebker has scored 991 career points during her tenure with the program, leaving her nine points shy of the 1,000-point plateau.

Coming on Strong

Freshman forward Anna Hintz has grabbed 26 rebounds in her last three games and ranks second among GLIAC freshman (16th overall) in rebounds per game at 6.3. She has grabbed 126 rebounds this season.

Charity Stripe

Since the start of the New Year, Findlay has been on fire from the free-throw line. In the ten games in 2016, the Oilers have hit 115-of-143 for 80%.

Sophomore Haley Horstman has nailed 40-of-48 from the line for 83.3%, good for ninth in the GLIAC.
