Findlay, OH – It was a special night for The University of Findlay women's basketball team on Monday, Feb. 1 as they picked up the 87-80 victory over the Wayne State Warriors. Not only did they collect back-to-back wins for the first time since Jan. 2, but senior Margaret Wuebker burst into the record books with 2:34 to play in the first quarter.

Wuebker crossed over at the top of the arc, dribbled to the right elbow, pulled up, and buried thea jumper, giving her 1,000 points in her career. That bucket gave her nine points in the game, and she was far from done as the Celina, Ohio native had one of the best nights in her four-year career.

By the time the game ended, Wuebker, who scored 17 points by halftime, had tallied a career-high 25 points, had grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out two assists. It was the first time since Ciara Geiger dropped 25 against Tiffin on Feb. 7, 2015 that an Oilers player reached 25 points.

She was not the only Oilers player to see success in this game as the Orange and Black shot 51.5% (34-for-66) in the game. The 34 field goals are the most for Findlay in a game this season.

Sophomore Haley Horstman also played well as she scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds while freshman Anna Hintz continued her strong play with 12 points and five rebounds. The final player to score in double-figures was junior Karli Bonar who hit four threes to finish the game with 12 points.

Wayne State received a noteworthy performance as well as guard Brittany Streetman led the way scoring half of the team's points. She finished the game with 40 points on a 15-of-24 shooting from the floor.

The Oilers now have an 8-7 record in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play and have posted a 13-8 record overall.

Findlay will be back on the court Thursday, Feb. 4 when they travel to Ohio Dominican. That game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
