Oilers Fall on the Road to #6 Ashland

Ashland, OH – The University of Findlay women's basketball team fell to the sixth ranked team in NCAA DII by a final of 78-.67 The loss to Ashland gives the Oilers a 14-10 record overall with a 9-9 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

Ashland improved their record to 23-1 overall and did so with solid play in the key. The Eagles outscored the Oilers 40-30 in points in the paint.

Leading the offense for Findlay was sophomore Haley Horstman. She scored 13 points and shot  6-of-12 in the losing effort.

Also reaching double-figures was senior Margaret Wuebker who reached 10 points. She also grabbed four rebounds.

Sophomore Lynsey Englebrecht improved on her GLIAC leading three point percentage as she buried 2-of-2 from deep and finished with nine points.

Freshman Anna Hintz finished the game with six points, five rebounds, and three assists. Her rebounds and assists were best in the game for the Oilers.

The Oilers will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 13 when they travel to Lake Erie College to take on the Storm. That game will begin at 1:00pm.
