Wheeling, West Va. Hosts Oilers on Wednesday
The Oilers will travel to Wheeling, West Virginia to take on the Wheeling Jesuit Cardinals on Wednesday, Nov. 16. The game will begin at 7:00 pm.

Series Information
The Oilers and Cardinals have only met once before, seven years ago to the day of Wednesday's matchup. Findlay beat Wheeling Jesuit in West Virginia on Nov. 16, 2009 by a score of 101-62. That was the second game of the year for Findlay and was the only time all season that the Oilers eclipsed the 100 point mark.
Maggie Gompers, a native of Wheeling, WV, was the leading scorer for Findlay as she dropped 21 points on seven of ten from behind the arc. That tied the school record for three-pointers in a game.
All 12 of Findlay's players reached the scoring column including Laura Bardall, who scored 17 points, and Tai Dotson who chipped in 13. Megan Sellers and Kayla Brown were the leading rebounders for Findlay, each grabbing eight boards.
Findlay
The Oilers enter the contest with a 1-1 record to begin the season after splitting their two games in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover. The season opened with a 70-59 loss to Indianapolis, but the Orange and Black bounced back to defeat the #20 Lewis Flyers 67-62. It was the Oilers first win over a top-25 opponent since they defeated the #22 California (Pa.) Vulcans 74-66 on Nov. 15, 2014.
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht, who led the GLIAC in three-point percentage last season, is already off to a hot start and is leading the team with 13.5 points per game. She has already knocked down seven of her 15 three-point attempts. In the Oilers loss against Indianapolis, Englebrecht set career-highs with six threes made and 11 threes attempted.
Sophomore Anna Hintz is leading the rebounding efforts early in the year. She has grabbed ten rebounds in the two games for 5.0 rpg. She is also the only player to have scored double-figures in each of the first two games as she dropped 11 points against UIndy and scored 12 in the win over Lewis.
Wheeling Jesuit
The Cardinals enter the game with a 2-0 record in the 2016 campaign. They're two wins are against Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (63-59) and West Chester University of Pennsylvania (83-60).
As a team, Wheeling is shooting 43.6% from the floor including 50% (16-of-32) from three-point territory. They frequently get to the charity stripe as they already have attempted 59 free-throws, making 42 of them.
Monica Burns is the leading scorer at 21.0 points per game in the young season. The majority of her points are coming via the triple as she has already buried 10-of-16 from behing the arc.
Mariah Callen, Marissa Tucker, and Chanelle Moore are all averaging double-figures, as well.
Preseason All-GLIAC
Junior guard Haley Horstman was picked as a preseason all-conference performer for the Oilers. Horstman returns to the Oilers after averaging 11.9 points per game during the 2015-16 campaign.
Horstman shot 49.8 percent from the floor and also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per contest. The New Knoxville, Ohio native chipped in 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Bombs Away
Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 210 career three pointers at Findlay, the second best mark in school history. Former Findlay sharpshooter Trisha Lauck holds the record for most made three pointers in a career. She made 232 three pointers for the Oilers from 1996-99.
In high school, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).
Preseason GLIAC Poll
The Oilers were picked to finish third during the 2016-17 campaign in the GLIAC South Division as the league office unveiled their annual preseason poll on Oct. 27.
The Oilers received 25 points in the poll to tie Ohio Dominican for third place. Ashland was picked as the favorite in the South and were followed by Walsh in the poll.
Grand Valley State was picked as the favorite to win the North Division and received a league-high 47 points and five first place votes. They were followed by Saginaw State and Michigan Tech in the poll.
