Oilers Welcome St. Francis (Ind.) for First Home Game
The Oilers will play their first home game of the 2016-17 season on Saturday, Nov. 19 at 1:00 pm when they host St. Francis (Ind.).

Series Information
The Oilers hold a 6-2 advantage in games against the Cougers. The series dates back to the 1981-82 season when Findlay lost in their first meeting with St. Francis by a score of 52-39. After that game, Findlay won five straight meetings against the Cougers.
The most recent meeting between these two programs was January 30, 1993. Findlay led 44-30 at halftime and, with the help of 35 St. Franics turnovers, cruised to a 75-54 victory. Findlay made 31-of-43 free throws in that game while shooting 22-of-53 (41.5%) from the floor.
Sophomore Nicole Clever and sophomore Heather Huffman were the leading scorers for Findlay. Clever made 5-of-8 from the floor and hit four free-throws to finish with 14 points while Huffman made just two field goals but hit 10-of-12 from the charity stripe to finish with 14, as well.
Freshman Jenni McGraw finished the game in double-figures as well as she hit 5-of-10 from the floor en route to a 12 point performance.
Findlay
The Oilers enter the game with a 1-2 record and are coming off of a 71-63 loss at Wheeling Jesuit. That game featured ten ties and seven lead changes before the Cardinals pulled away for the win.
The Oilers were led by junior guard Lynsey Englebrecht who, for the second time this season, came off the bench and knocked down a career-high six triples to lead the team in scoring. She finished the game with 18 points on 6-of-11 from deep. She is the team's leading scorer at 15.0 points per game and currently leads the GLIAC with 13 three pointers made.
Sophomore Anna Hintz, who scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds in the game against Wheeling Jesuit, is the Oilers' leading rebounder at 5.0 boards per game and is the second-leading scorer at 10.7 points per game.
Senior Karli Bonar and sophomore Christa Puthoff are scoring 7.7 and 7.0 points per game, respectively.
St. Francis
The Cougers, an NAIA school competing in the Crossroads League, enter the contest with a 2-5 record overall. That record has them in ninth in their league, although no conference games have been played.
The Cougers are led in scoring Lauren McBryar who is dropping 12.4 points per contest. She scored a season-high 23 points in a 67-47 loss to Indiana Tech. She leads the team with 10 three pointers made, although her 3pt% is just .286.
Kara Gerka is scoring 12.0 ppg for St. Francis and doubles as the team's leading rebounder at 7.1 boards per contest. She has scored in double figures in all but one game this season and has recorded a double-doublewith 13 points and 13 rebounds on Oct. 28 vs. Cincinnati Christian and on Nov. 1 against Davenport.
Preseason All-GLIAC
Junior guard Haley Horstman was picked as a preseason all-conference performer for the Oilers. Horstman returns to the Oilers after averaging 11.9 points per game during the 2015-16 campaign.
Horstman shot 49.8 percent from the floor and also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per contest. The New Knoxville, Ohio native chipped in 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
Bombs Away
Junior guard Karli Bonar has made 210 career three pointers at Findlay, the second best mark in school history. Former Findlay sharpshooter Trisha Lauck holds the record for most made three pointers in a career. She made 232 three pointers for the Oilers from 1996-99.
In high school, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht is also a major factor from behind the arc. Last season, she led the GLIAC with a three point percentage of .524 making 45-of-84 from deep.
This season, she is off to a fast start as she has shot and made more three pointers than any other player in the league (13-for-26). He three point percentage (.500) is currently 14th in the GLIAC, but fourth among players with at least 10 threes attempted.
Preseason GLIAC Poll
The Oilers were picked to finish third during the 2016-17 campaign in the GLIAC South Division as the league office unveiled their annual preseason poll on Oct. 27.
The Oilers received 25 points in the poll to tie Ohio Dominican for third place. Ashland was picked as the favorite in the South and were followed by Walsh in the poll.
Grand Valley State was picked as the favorite to win the North Division and received a league-high 47 points and five first place votes. They were followed by Saginaw State and Michigan Tech in the poll.
