Findlay Heads to Upper Peninsula
The Oilers will head to the Upper Peninsula for the final time as a member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and will play conference foes Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech on Thursday, Dec. 15 and Saturday, Dec. 17, respectively. The game against Northern Michigan will begin at 6:00 pm and the game against Michigan Tech will start at 4:00 pm.

Northern Michigan: The Oilers have post a 5-18 record in 23 games against the Wildcats dating back to their first matchup in the 1997-98 season, a 71-39 loss for Findlay.
The teams last met in Findlay last season with the Orange and Black winning 60-42. Kelsey Lewis led Findlay with 15 points. She also had four rebounds and three assists. Haley Horstman chipped in 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and a career-high six steals.
Michigan Tech: Findlay has a 6-16 record in 22 games against Michigan Tech dating back to their first matchup in the 1997-98 season, a 79-33 loss for the Oilers.
The Orange and Black earned the win in last year's meeting in Findlay by a score of 73-72 thanks to a buzzer beater by Haley Horstman. Horstmand led the Oilers with 17 points on 8-10 shooting. She had two rebounds and three steals. Margaret Wuebker and Kelsey Lewis each scored 15 points. Wuebker had five rebounds, two assists, and two steals while Lewis had four rebounds.
Findlay
The Oilers are an even 5-5 on the season and are 1-3 in GLIAC play which has them in fourth place in the GLIAC South Division.
At 38.1%, Findlay is the third-best three point shooting team in the league and they are making 6.1 threes per game. Along with being accurate from deep, the Oilers defense has been solid as they have not allowed a team to shoot 50% from the floor in any of the team's ten games.
Sophomore Christa Puthoff and junior Lynsey Englebrecht are leading the Oilers offensively with 9.6 points per game. Sophomore Anna Hintz, who leads the team with 5.6 rebounds per game, is also scoring 9.6 points per game and is coming off a double-double in her last game against Northwood in which she scored 18 points and had ten rebounds.
Northern Michigan
The Wildcats are currently 7-3 overall and 2-1 in GLIAC play, tied for second in the North Division, all despite scoring just 62.1 points per game, last in the league. However, the Cats' defense has been solid as they are allowing just 58.0 ppg, best in the GLIAC, and are committing just 13.8 fouls per game, also best in the league.
Senior Bre Gaspervich is leading NMU with 13.8 points per contest while sophomore Darby Youngstrom is chipping in 12.2 ppg and leads the team with 6.5 rebounds per game.
Michigan Tech
The Huskies are 6-2 overall and 2-1 in GLIAC play, also tied for second in the North Division. They are fourth in the league with 70.3 points per game and third with a shooting percentage of .442.
Senior Morgan Anderson is second in the league and leads the Huskies with 18.0 ppg. Seniors Brenna Heise and Kelli Guy are scoring 14.6 and 14.0 ppg, respectively.
Bombs Away
Senior guard Karli Bonar has made 224 career three pointers at Findlay, the second best mark in school history. Former Findlay sharpshooter Trisha Lauck holds the career record for most made three pointers in a career. She made 232 threes for the Oilers from 1996-1999.
In high school, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht is also a major factor from behind the arc. Last season, she led the GLIAC with a three-point percentage of .524, making 45-of-84 from deep.
This season, she is off to a good start as she is fourth in the league in threes made with 24 and second in threes attempted with 55. She is shooting .436.
Grand Theft
The Oilers are averaging 9.9 steals per game, which ranks fourth among all GLIAC programs. Junior Haley Horstman, who set a career-high with six steals last season against Northern Michigan, leads the team with 1.6 steals per game. Junior Lynsey Englebrecht (1.3), senior Karli Bonar (1.2), sophomore Allie Thobe (1.1), and sophomore Elissa Ellerbrock (1.0) are close behind.
Getting on the Glass
Sophomore Christa Puthoff is currently third in the GLIAC at 3.2 offensive rebounds per game. She is collecting 5.4 boards per contest, 22nd in the conference.
As a team, the Oilers are recording 12.3 offensive rebounds per game. The total is the fifth-best in the GLIAC.
