Oilers Host UM-Dearborn and St. Joseph's (Ind.)
The Oilers are home for a pair of games over winter break beginning with a 5:30 pm tip against the University of Michigan-Dearborn tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 29. On Friday, Dec. 30, the Oilers will play another non-conference opponent, St. Joseph's (Ind.). That game will also begin at 5:30 pm.

Series Information
Michigan-Dearborn: The Oilers have a 6-1 record against the Wolverines in their seven meetings that date back to their first contest in the 1985-86 season. That game was a 76-62 win for Findlay. UM-Dearborn's only win in the series came in the 1989-90 season, a 78-77 loss.
The last time the teams met was Dec. 1, 2014. Findlay won 93-48 at home. Nikki Gunning scored 12 points on four three pointers to lead the Oilers. Shannon Zajec came off the bench and scored 11 points, grabbed four rebounds, and had two assists. Findlay shot 34-of-68 and drained 15 threes.
St. Joseph's (Ind.): The Oilers are 3-2 against the Pumas. The teams first met in the 2003-04 season, a 72-68 win for Findlay.
November 11, 2008 was the last time the teams met. That game was played in Findlay and was an 80-43 victory for the Oilers. Laura Bardall led the way with a double-double. She had 16 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Jessica Vorst also scored 16 points.
Findlay
The Oilers are 5-7 on the year and 1-5 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.
The last time Findlay played was Dec. 17 in Houghton, Michigan against Michigan Tech. That game resulted in a 61-47 loss.
The first half of basketball was back and forth and just seven minutes into the game, the Oilers had built a 14-7 lead. Michigan Tech battled back and took a 31-28 lead into halftime.
A quick three from senior Karli Bonar tied the game at 31-31 coming out of the break and a free throw from Christa Puthoff gave the Oilers a 32-31 lead. That lead did not last long as the Huskies would catch fire for the remainder of the quarter. Michigan Tech went on an 18-3 run on 5-of-10 shooting as well as 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Each team scored 12 points in the final quarter to end the game.
Junior Haley Horstman led the Oilers with 14 points on 6-of-13 from the floor including a pair of three pointers. She also led the team with five rebounds.
Michigan-Dearborn
The Wolverines are an NAIA school competing in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC). They have a record of 4-13 overall and are 1-8 in league play.
The Wolverines are led by Megan Swick at 9.3 points per game. 26 of her 53 field-field goals are from deep as are 106 of her 184 field goal attempts. Emily Heinrich is the team's leading rebounder at 6.0 rebounds per game. She is second on the team with 8.8 points per game while Kendall Rose has 8.3 points per game.
St. Joseph's (Ind.)
The Pumas are NCAA Division II affiliated and compete in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). They are 4-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play. They have wins in three of their previous five games including a 60-44 win over Northern Michigan.
The Pumas are led in scoring by Kalea Parks who is scoring 16.9 points per game. She also leads the team with 5.9 rebounds per game. Lauren Ruth is also scoring double-figures at 11.6 ppg and has 13 blocks. Ruth has made 27-of-56 from deep (.482).
Bombs Away
Senior guard Karli Bonar has made 227 career three pointers at Findlay, the second best mark in school history. Former Findlay sharpshooter Trisha Lauck holds the career record for most made three pointers in a career. She made 232 threes for the Oilers from 1996-1999.
In high school, Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350).
Junior Lynsey Englebrecht is also a major factor from behind the arc. Last season, she led the GLIAC with a three-point percentage of .524, making 45-of-84 from deep.
This season, she is eighth in the league with a .443 shooting percentage and sixth at 2.2 threes made per game.
Between Bonar and Englebrecht, they have taken 165 shots, 120 of which have been from behind the arc. Of the 61 made field goals, 48 have been triples.
Grand Theft
The Oilers are averaging 9.1 steals per game, which ranks eighth among all GLIAC programs. Junior Haley Horstman leads the team with 1.4 steals per game. Senior Karli Bonar (1.2), Junior Lynsey Englebreacht (1.1), and sophomore Allie Thobe (1.1) are close behind.
