Oilers Come Up Short at Hillsdale

The University of Findlay women's basketball team dropped a 73-56 decision at Hillsdale College on Jan. 12. The loss gives the Oilers an 8-9 record on the season with a 2-7 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers shot 37.5 percent (21-of-56) from the floor while the Chargers connected on 44.8 percent (30-of-67) from the field in the game. The Chargers also held a 43-34 advantage on the boards and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds in the contest.

Junior guard Haley Horstman led Findlay with 13 points and four rebounds while sophomore forward Anna Hintz nearly recorded a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Sophomore guard Allie Thobe kicked in eight points while junior guard Lynsey Englebrecht and sophomore forward Elissa Ellerbrock each had seven points apiece in the loss.

The Oilers will be back in action next Thursday, Jan. 19 when they play host to Ohio Dominican University. The game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
