Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's basketball team lost their game against Ohio Dominican University on Thursday, Jan. 19 by a score of 82-51. With the loss, the Oilers' record falls to 8-10 overall and 2-8 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play while the Panthers improve to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in conference play.

The Panthers a hot shooting night to burst out to an early 22-14 lead after the first quarter and extended that lead to 44-28 at the half. In that half, Ohio Dominican hit on 19-of-32 shots for 59.4%. They also made five-of-nine from deep.

By game's end, the Panthers had their highest shooting percentage in a game this season, finishing 35-of-60 from the floor including 10-of-16 from deep for 62.5%. On the other side, the Oilers shot just 37.7% from the floor (20-of-53) and connected on 4-of-17 from deep.

The Oilers outrebounded the Panthers 32-29 but turned the ball over 24 times and allowed 35 fast break points.

Leading the way for Findlay was sophomore Christa Puthoff. She scored ten points and grabbed five rebounds while junior Elissa Ellerbrock and sophomore Allie Thobe each scored seven. Ellerbrock dished out a career-high five assists in the loss.

Sophomore Anna Hintz was the leading rebounder with six. She also scored five points.

Findlay will be back in action on Satruday, Jan. 21 when they host the Lake Erie College Storm. That GLIAC South contest will begin at 1:00 pm.
