Findlay, OH - In a back and forth game, the University of Findlay women's basketball team held on to defeat the Tiffin University Dragons on Thursday, Feb. 16. With the 75-70 win, Findlay is now 13-13 on the year and owns a 7-11 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The game was back-and-forth for all 40 minutes and featured seven ties and six lead changes. Findlay was down 39-32 with two minutes to play in the first half, but a 7-0 run would tie the game at the break and give the Oilers momentum. Findlay used that momentum to pull away to a 57-48 lead through three quarters and, thanks in part to 12-of-17 from the charity stripe in the final quarter, the victory.

Findlay shot 26-of-55 from the floor for 47.3% while the Dragons hit 29-of-66 for 43.9%. Rebounds were nearly even with Tiffin holding a 37-35 edge.

Junior Haley Horstman led Findlay with 17 points and tied for the team lead with four assists. She hit five-of-six from the charity stripe including a perfect four-of-four in the final quarter.

Findlay's all-time leading three point shooter, senior Karli Bonar, knocked in four shots from three point territory to finish with 12 points in the game while sophomore Christa Puthoff finished with ten points and four boards. Sophomore Anna Hintz led the squad with ten rebounds, the seventh time this season that she has reached double-digit rebounds.

The Oilers are back on the court on Saturday, Feb. 18 when they host #1 Ashland University at 1:00 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
