Englebrecht Leads Oilers to 73-51 Win at KWC

The University of Findlay women's basketball team began their tenure in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) with a dominating 73-51 win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Nov. 30 in Owensboro, Ky. The victory pushes the Oilers record to 4-1 on the season.

Senior guard Lynsey Englebrecht led the Oilers with a career-high 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Englebrecht also set a personal best with eight rebounds and tied her career-high by canning 6-of-10 attempts from behind the three point line.

Senior guard Haley Horstman had 12 points, five rebounds and three assists while junior forward Anna Hintz recorded a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Junior center Christa Puthoff came off the bench to provide nine points while junior guard Jenna Stegmaier had six points, five rebounds and five assists in the victory.

As a team, the Oilers connected on 51.9 percent (27-of-52) of their field goal attempts and held the Panthers to a mere 28.8 percent (17-of-59) shooting clip. They also out-rebounded the Panthers by a 43-29 margin and dominated in the paint, out-scoring Kentucky Wesleyan 36-14 in the key.

The Oilers will be back at it again on Saturday when they travel to Nashville, Tenn. for a 3 p.m. game against Trevecca Nazarene.
