Elkins, W. Va. – The University of Findlay women's basketball team extended their win streak to 11 games with an 89-59 victory over Davis & Elkins College on Saturday, Dec. 30. The victory increases the Oilers lead in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) as they improve to 11-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 in league play while the Senators fall to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in G-MAC contests.

Findlay took their final lead of the game just four minutes into the contest when, after trailing for the early part of the contest, Anna Hintz made a layup to put the Orange and Black ahead 9-8. Findlay never trailed again as their lead ballooned to 34 points at its largest. The Oilers made 35-of-64 (54.7%) en route to a 30-point drubbing in their first-ever matchup with the Senators.

D&E was held to just 18-of-57 (31.6%) from the floor and was forced in 16 turnovers. Although the Senators shot more threes (8-for-31), Findlay was able to convert more efficiently on fewer attempts, making 12-of-25 from deep.

Leading the three-point barrage was senior Lynsey Englebrecht who set a new school record with eight shots made from beyond the arc. She passes the old record of seven which was done three times, twice by Maggie Gompers (2008 & 2009) and once by Clare Aubry (2010). Englebrecht led all scorers with 26 points on 9-of-11 from the floor. She also added four rebounds and five assists.

Junior Anna Hintz shot 9-of-15 from the field and finished the contest with 21 points including a perfect 3-of-3 from the charity stripe. She had four rebounds and two assists while junior Jenna Stegmaier led the team with eight rebounds and had five assists. Stegmaier also chipped in nine points while she, Englebrecht, and junior Elissa Ellerbrock each had a pair of steals.

Senior Haley Horstman was the final Oiler in double-figures, scoring ten points on 5-of-7 shooting. She had three rebounds and three assists.

Findlay will return to action in the new year as they take on Ohio Dominican on Tuesday, January 2 in Croy Gymnasium. That game will tip off at 8:00 pm.
