Oilers Ranked No. 9 in First Regional Poll

Regional Rankings

Findlay, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's basketball team is ranked ninth in the first installment of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings which were released on Feb. 14. It is the first time the Oilers have appeared in the regional rankings since they held the no. 2 spot on Mar. 6, 2013.

The top eight teams in the region will qualify for the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional, which is set to take place on March 9-12. The top team in the rankings will earn the right to host the first three rounds of tournament play.

The Oilers are looking to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the third time in program history and the first since the 2012-13 season. That season Findlay make it to the Sweet 16 before falling to the top-seeded Ashland Eagles in the Midwest Regional final.

2009-10 was the only other time the Oilers made it into the NCAA tournament. That year Findlay made it to the second round of action.

Findlay is one of four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) teams to appear in the poll, the most teams of any conference in the region.
