Oilers Face #3 Drury in Opening Round

The Oilers will participate in the NCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time since 2013 and open up play against 3rd-ranked Drury on March 9 in Ashland, Ohio. The contest is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the game are as follows:

An all-tournament package also will be available, and the cost is $72 reserved, $52 adult general admission and $28 for seniors/students.

Series Information

The Oilers trail in the all-time series against Drury by a 1-0 margin dating back to the 2006-07 campaign when the Panthers came away with a 77-65 win over Findlay in the Bahamas.

Ashley Westenbarger led three Findlay players in double figures with 11 points and six rebounds while Audra Mihalic had ten points, six rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals.

Jennifer Beekman recorded ten points off the bench while Katie Greisiger stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds and five blocks.

Nanette Cox added eight points and four assists as well.

The Panthers were led by Lauren Gregory's 16 points.

Findlay

The Oilers are 22-7 on the season and have been led by junior forward Anna Hintz, who was a first team all-Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) selection. Hintz is averaging 18.6 points per game and also grabbing 8.7 rebounds per contest. She is also shooting 55.2 percent from the field and has a team-high 26 blocked shots.

Senior guard Lynsey Englebrecht is averaging 14.6 points per game and ranks second in the nation with 103 made three pointers. She is shooting 43.6 percent from three point range and is also averaging 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Englebrecht was a second team all-league pick for Findlay this year.

Senior guard Haley Horstman, who earned second team all-conference honors, is averaging 14.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. She is shooting 45.2 percent from the field and ha 36 steals on the year.

The Oilers are averaging 77.6 points per game and shooting 46.7 percent from the field.

Drury

The Panthers are 29-2 on the season and ranked third among all NCAA Division II women's basketball programs. They have won 14 straight games and recently captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Tournament title.

The Panthers average 80.5 points per game and only allow 60.0 points per contest. They have a turnover margin of +9.5 and are averaging a whopping 15.0 steals per game.

Alice Heinzler leads a balanced offensive attack at 14.8 points per game. She has also made a team-high 88 three pointers on the year.

Hailey Diestelkamp is averaging 13.9 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while Heather Harman is scoring 12.1 points per outing.

Lucia Fernandez is also averaging in double figures at 10.5 points per game. She is also grabbing 4.2 rebounds per contest.

Senior guard Haley Horstman became the Oilers 21st member of the 1,000 point club on Thursday, Feb. 1 against Malone. Horstman has scored 1,167 career points, 13th on the all-time scoring list.

Horstman is chasing Tammy Lorton for 12th place on the all-time scoring list at Findlay. Lorton put up 1,195 points for Findlay from 1989-92.

Splashing 3's

Senior guard Lynsey Englebrecht has made 219 career three pointers, third-most all-time at Findlay. She is chasing Trisha Lauck who made 232 from 1996-99.

In 2017-18, Englebrecht has made 103 three-pointers which is the most in a season at Findlay. She is just the second player in Oilers' history, male or female, to reach the century mark. She leads the conference with 3.7 made three pointers per game and her 43.6 percent shooting clip from long range is the second-best mark in the league. Her 3.7 made three pointers per game is the best mark in the nation and her 103 three pointers made is the second-best total in NCAA Division II women's basketball. Englebrecht's long range shooting percentage also shows up among the national leaders as she is ranked tenth.

Englebrecht has also launched 236 three pointers this year, the highest amount in school history. She is one of only two players in the history of the program to fire up more than 200 three pointers in a season. Maggie Gompers attempted 207 during the 2008-09 campaign.

Hintz Up the List

Anna Hintz has scored 539 points this season, third all-time at Findlay, and just the fifth player in program history to reach 500 points in a season. She is just 46 points shy of the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Jenni McGraw ranks second all-time at Findlay with 591 points during the 1995-96 campaign. Mianda Watts holds the school record for points in a season with 662 during the 1999-00 season.
