Oilers Win #6 | Defeat Storm 80-61

The University of Findlay women's basketball team improved to 6-2 on the year with an 80-61 win over Lake Erie College on Dec. 15 in the Croy Physical Education Center. The win also gives the Oilers a 4-2 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC).

Senior forward Anna Hintz recorded her sixth double-double of the season as she finished with 24 points and ten rebounds. Hintz made 8-of-12 attempts from the field and was 3-of-5 from three point range in the win.

Senior guard Elissa Ellerbrock reached double figures with 12 points and also added six rebounds and four assists while sophomore guard Madison Stolly set a new career-high with 11 points.

Freshman center Sydney Kin and senior center Christa Puthoff nearly reached double figures as they each finished with eight points. Puthoff had five rebounds while Kin recorded four boards and blocked four shots.

Findlay shot 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the floor and made 8-of-16 (50%) attempts from three point range. They also held a 34-23 advantage on the boards and blocked six shots.

The Storm hit 50% (21-of-42) of their field goal attempts and connected on 11-of-16 (68.8%) attempts from three point range. Farrrah Benner led the Storm with 24 points, hitting 8-of-10 attempts from behind the three point line.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Dec. 18 when they travel to Tampa, Fla. to face Florida Tech at 1pm. They will then play at Tampa on Dec. 19. The game is scheduled to tip at 3pm.
