Findlay, Ohio - The University of Findlay women's basketball team took care of business at home on Saturday, Jan. 12 in Croy Gymnasium against league foe, Ohio Valley. The Oilers won by a score of 84-50 to improve to 11-4 on the season with a 7-3 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) play while the Fighting Scots remain winless, falling to 0-13 overall and 0-9 in league play.
The Oilers received a big boost from their substitutes in the win as they outscored the Fighting Scots by a 41-18 margin in bench points. They also held an 18-3 advantage in fast break points and came away with 16 steals in the game.
Senior forward Anna Hintz led the way with 17 points and six rebounds while senior guard Allie Thobe had 12 points and six steals.
Senior guard Lauren Ruth added 12 points while freshman forward Bridget Landin posted ten points, three rebounds and two blocks.
The Oilers, who had 11 players score in the game, shot 40.3 percent (25-of-62) from the floor and made 28-of-38 (73.7%) attempts from the free throw line. They also held the Fighting Scots to a mere 29 percent (18-of-62) shooting clip in the victory.
The Oilers will be back in action again on Jan. 19 when they host Hillsdale College at 11:00 am.
