Vogt Ties Record, Wins Lake Erie Invite

The University of Findlay women's golf team won the Lake Erie College Invitational on Monday, September 27 at the Madison Country Club in Madison, Ohio. The Oilers shot a 648 over the course of the two-day tournament, firing a 326 in the opening round and a 322 in the second.

Andrea Vogt won the event with a 150 while Ashley Gubser placed second after recording a 156.

Vogt shot a 77 in the opening round and then came back to tie the school record for lowest 18-hole score by carding a 73 (+2) on the final day of competition.

Gubser shot a 78 in both the first and second rounds for her total.

Brooke Albers finished fourth with a 163 (79, 84), Trelyn Gerlinger was ninth after firing a 179 (92, 87) and Hillary Lawrence (96, 88 – 184) took 11th.

The Oilers will be back in action again on October 9-10 when they host the Bing-Beall Classic at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.
