Oilers Finish 7th At Ferris State To Open Season

The University of Findlay women's golf team opened their season with a seventh place finish at the Ferris State University Invitational on Monday, September 6 at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Michigan. The Oilers shot a 329 in the opening round and came back with a 324 in the second to finish with a score of 653.

Ashley Gubser led the way by tying for 20th with a 160 (80, 80) while Brooke Albers (82, 80 – 162) and Andrea Vogt (81, 82 – 163) placed 31st and 35th respectively at the event.

Hillary Lawrence (87, 82 – 169), Jessica Lynch (86, 88 – 174) and Trelyn Gerlinger (105, 99 – 204) also competed for Findlay at the event.

Ashland University won the tournament after firing a 603 (298, 305) while Grand Valley State University's Sarah Hoffman took home individual champion honors with a 145 (73, 72).
