Oilers Win Tiffin Invitational
The University of Findlay women's golf team won the Tiffin University Invitational, which concluded on April 16. The Oilers shot a two-round score of 651 (330), 321) at the event to claim the top prize as seven teams competed in the tournament.
Michele Schambs tied for second to lead Findlay as she carded a 159 (81, 78) while Ashley Gubser (79, 81 – 160) and Lauren Vogt (83, 80 – 163) finished fourth and sixth, respectively.
Brooke Albers tied for 12th after carding a 169 (87, 82) while Trelyn Gerlinger (97, 89 – 186), Emily Mock (99, 90 – 189) and Heather Steiner (96, 99 – 195) also competed for the Oilers during the event.
The Oilers will return to the course again on April 23-24 at the 2012 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship in Midland, Mich.
