Oilers Tied for 8th at Regional

The University of Findlay women's golf team fired a 328 on the second day of competition at the NCAA Division II Super Region 1 Tournament, which concluded on Monday, May 7 at the Findlay Country Club.  The Oilers, who fired a 319 during the opening round on Sunday, are now tied for eighth with a two-day score of 647.

Indianapolis leads the event with a 607 (300, 307) while Grand Valley State is second after shooting a 618 (308, 310).

Individually, sophomore Brooke Albers is tied for sixth with a 149.  Albers shot a 73 during the opening round and then came back with a 76 in the second round on Monday.

Freshman Michele Schambs is also playing well and is tied for 18th with a 160 (75, 85).

Junior Lauren Vogt (84, 83 – 167), senior Ashley Gubser (87, 84 – 171) and Trelyn Gerlinger (91, 89 – 180) are also competing for Findlay at the event.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow.
