Oilers Win Michael Corbett Fall Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team took first place at the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, which was played at the Peek 'N Peak Golf Course in Clymer, N.Y.  The Oilers finished the tournament on Monday, Sep. 17 with a two-day score of 632, eight shots ahead of Wheeling Jesuit University.

Lauren Vogt led the charge and placed second with a score of 149.  Vogt shot an even-par 72 in the opening round on Sunday, the third lowest 18-hole score in school history, and then came back with a 77 on Monday to complete her round.

Michele Schambs added a fifth place finish for the Oilers as she carded a 158 (77, 81) while Brooke Albers tied for sixth with a 161 (77, 84).

Kasey Petty took ninth with a 164 (88, 76) while Hannah Schneider (89, 91 – 180) and Emily Mock (92, 98 – 190) also competed for the Oilers at the event.

The Oilers will be back out on the golf course again on Sep. 23-24 at the Indianapolis Invitational, which is scheduled to take place at the Heartland Crossing Golf Course in Indianapolis, Ind.
