Guarnieri Hired as Director of Golf

Dominic Guarnieri has been tabbed by Steven Rackley, director of athletics at The University of Findlay, to lead both the men's and women's golf programs for the Oilers as he will take over for the recently retired Al Baker.

"After an extensive search, I am pleased to announce the hiring of Dominic Guarnieri as our new director of golf operations," said Rackley.  "Dominic knows Findlay very well after playing and coaching here.  He is undoubtedly the right person to lead both of our golf programs in the present and into the future."

Guarnieri served on staff as an assistant last season under Baker and was also a graduate assistant coach for the Oilers for two years after winning four letters on the men's golf team from 2002-05.

"I am excited to continue to build upon the success that Al Baker built over the last 21 years," said Guarnieri.  "I see great potential in both of our programs and I am looking forward to taking this next step in my career."

Between his stints at Findlay, Guarnieri was an assistant golf coach at St. Marys Memorial High School for one year before taking over the head coaching position for two years.  In his second year at the helm of the St. Marys program, he led the team to their only conference tournament win in school history.

Guarnieri has also had a successful playing career outside of coaching as he was the 2010 and 2012 Mercer County Elks Club champion.  He was also the 2011 Findlay Country Club champion and was named the 2011 TDGA Player of the Year.
