Schambs Takes 2nd at FSU Invitational

The University of Findlay women's golf team took fourth place at the Ferris State Bulldog Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich.

The Oilers shot a 627 during the event, scoring a 309 in the first round and 318 in the second round.

Michele Schambs finished second with a 151 to lead the Oilers.

Schambs shot a 75 in the first round and then came back with a 76 in the second for her total.

Brooke Albers tied for ninth with a 155 (74, 81) while Kasey Petty finished in a tie for 12th with a 156 (78, 78).

Taylor Tweed (80, 84 – 164), Hannah Schneider (82, 83 – 165), Shelby Warner (87, 84 – 171) and Emily Mock (96, 93 – 189) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will return next week to host their annual William Bing Beall Fall Classic at the Findlay Country Club on Oct. 20-21.
