Oilers Fire School Record, Win Bing-Beall Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team fired a school record 302 in the final round of the Bing-Beall Classic to secure the win on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Findlay Country Club.

The Oilers shot a two-day score of 617 (315, 302), which is the second lowest 36-hole score in women's golf history at UF.  They also blew away the competition as Ohio Dominican University took second place with a 641, 24 strokes behind the Oilers.

Kasey Petty led the charge for Findlay and finished in a tie for second place with a 150. 

Petty fired a 74 on Sunday and then shot a 76 on Monday for her score.

Michele Schambs, Shelby Warner and Brooke Albers also contributed top-10 finishes as they placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.

Schambs took fourth with a 154.  She carded an 80 in the opening round of competition and then came back with a 74 in the second round for her final total.

Warner fired a 155, shooting a 78 on Sunday and a 77 on Monday, while Albers had a 156 (83, 75).

Hannah Schneider also had a good tournament for the Oilers and placed 15th with a 165 (82, 83).

Taylor Tweed (87, 87 – 174) and Emily Mock (86, 93 – 179) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will now take a break until their spring season.
