Petty Wins Perry Park Invitational

UF women's golfer Kasey Petty finished first at the Perry Park Spring Invitational, which concluded action on March 23 at the Perry Park Golf Couse in, Perry Park, Ky.

Petty fired a three-round score of 225 to lead the Oilers to an eighth place finish with a total of 968 (322, 324, 322).

Petty, who tied the school record for the lowest 54-hole score with her 225, shot a 78 in the first round before coming back with a 75 in the second.  She then carded an even-par score of 72 in the third and final round to take the title, which is the fifth-lowest score in school history for a single round.

Brooke Albers, who is now tied with Petty for the lowest 54-hole score in school history, scored a 16th place finish at the tournament with a 235 (79, 77, 79).

Taylor Tweed (81, 87, 86 – 254), Shelby Warner (87, 85, 85 – 257), Hannah Schneider (84, 91, 88 – 263) and Emily Mock (90, 92, 90 – 272) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will return to action on March 30-31 at the Ohio Dominican Invitational.  The event will be held at the Jefferson Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
