Schambs Named GLIAC Golfer of the Week

Junior Michele Schambs was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Golfer of the Week on April 15 for her performance at the Walsh Invitational.

Schambs, who shot a 153 at the event, led the Oilers to a second place finish by winning the tournament in a playoff.  She carded an 80 in the opening round on Sunday and then came back with a one-over par score of 73 in the second round on Monday to put her in a three-way tie for first place when the tournament came to a conclusion. She then fired a par during the first playoff hole to claim the victory as Walsh's Jenny Tsangeos and Ferris State's Ashley Swanson both bogeyed.
