Oilers Place 3rd at Bing-Beall Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team finished third at the Bing-Beall Classic, which wrapped up on Oct. 13 at the Findlay Country Club.

The Oilers shot a 308 on the second day to finish the tournament with a two-round score of 629 (321, 308). Indianapolis won the event with a 605 (306, 299).

Junior Kasey Petty paced the Oilers with a 36-hole score of 152, which was good for fourth at the tournament. Petty carded a 79 on Sunday and then came back with a 1-over par score of 73 on Monday for her total.

Senior Michele Schambs also recorded a top-10 finish, placing eighth with a 155. Schambs had a 78 on Sunday and a 77 on Monday for her final score.

Sophomore Shelby Warner came away with a top-20 finish by placing 17th with a 158 (79, 79) while junior Hannah Schneider had a 165 (86, 79), which was good for 31st at the tournament.

Freshman Kelsey Koesters (85, 81 – 166) finished 36th, freshman Courtney Piatt (80, 88 – 168) was 40th, sophomore Taylor Tweed (81, 88 – 169) was 42nd, freshman Haley Gray (92, 89 – 181) placed 70th and senior Emily Mock (97, 97 – 194) took 81st.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Oct. 18-19 at the Malone Invitational. The event will take place at Legends of Massillon in Massillon, Ohio.
