Women's Golf Signs Torres, Hatter

The University of Findlay women's golf program inked Makenzie Torres and Samantha Hatter on Nov. 20. Both golfers will be eligible to compete for the Oilers during the 2015-16 season.

Torres is from Grove City High School and was named first team all-Ohio Capital Conference as a senior. She was also a second team all-district pick as a senior and was tabbed second team all-conference as a junior.

"Makenzie is an extremely talented player with huge upside," said head coach Dominic Guarnieri. "She has only been playing golf competitively for a few years and is driven to get better each and every day."

Hatter is from Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Ind. She has earned all-Indiana honors three times during her career and became one of only ten ladies in the past 20 years to earn all-state accolades both athletically and academically in the same season.  A four-time all-conference pick, Hatter has twice won regional championships and finished fourth at the state tournament during her senior season.

"Samantha comes from a program that has had a lot of success," said Guarnieri. "She knows what it takes to compete at the highest level and we are expecting her to have a very successful career here at Findlay."
