Oilers Sit 3rd After Day 1 of NC4K Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team is currently in third place after the first day of the NC4K College Classic, which completed first round action on March 29 at the Jefferson Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.

The Oilers shot a 328 on the first day and trail Ashland University (318) and Grand Valley State (319) in the team standings.

Senior Michele Schambs paced the team on the first day by shooting a four-over par score of 76, which is good enough for second place at the tournament. Schambs had three birdies on the back nine to aid her score for the day.

Sophomore Shelby Warner is tied for fourth place at the event with a 79 while junior Kasey Petty fired an 86.

Junior Hannah Schneider (87), freshman Haley Gray (90), freshman Kelsey Koesters (91) and sophomore Taylor Tweed (96) are also competing for Findlay as well.

The second and final day of competition is slated for tomorrow.
