2015 NCAA DII National Championship Begins Wednesday

The University of Findlay women's golf team will be competing in the NCAA Division II National Championship for the second consecutive season on May 13-16 at the Meadows in Allendale, Mich. The Oilers placed seventh at the national tournament last season at the Rock Barn Golf and Spa in Canover, N.C.

The Oilers are one of 12 teams vying for the crown and join Ashland University and the University of Indianapolis as the representatives from the East Region.

Findlay came away with a second place finish at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament and then tied Ashland for second place at the East Regional. Senior Michele Schambs and junior Kasey Petty have led the team this season as they were both named first team all-conference. Sophomore Shelby Warner also picked up all-league honors, earning a spot on the second team.

Junior Hannah Schneider will be the first Findlay player on the course on May 13 as she is scheduled to tee off at 8:50 a.m. on hole one. She will be followed by freshman Kelsey Koesters (9:00 a.m.), Warner (9:10 a.m.), Petty (9:20 a.m.) and Schambs (9:30 a.m.).
