Oilers in 11th after Day 1 of National Championship

The University of Findlay women's golf team kicked off the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship with a score of 328 on May 13 at the Meadows in Allendale, Mich. The Oilers are currently 11th place after the first day of competition.

Junior Kasey Petty led the Oilers on day one and is tied for 20th with a 78. Petty had three birdies and nine pars during her round. She will tee off at 9:55 a.m. tomorrow in the second round.

Senior Michele Schambs is tied for 23rd after posting a 79 in the opening round. She will tee off tomorrow morning at 10:05 a.m.

Sophomore Shelby Warner took an 85 in the first round and is tied for 59th while freshman Kelsey Koesters fired an 86 and is tied for 63rd. Warner will begin her second round at 9:45 a.m. while Koesters is scheduled to start at 9:35 a.m. on Thursday.

Junior Hannah Schneider was also in action for the Oilers on Wednesday and turned in an 87. She is tied for 65th and will open her second round at 9:25 a.m. tomorrow.
