Oilers Move Up to 9th at National Championship

The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up the second day of the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship on May 14 at the Meadows in Allendale, Mich. The Oilers carded a 317 on day two and sit in ninth place with a two-round score of 645 (328, 317).

Junior Kasey Petty led the Oilers on Thursday with a 4-over par score of 76. She is now tied for 13th at the event with a 154 (78, 76). She is only seven strokes off the lead, which is held by Midwestern State's Brenna Moore (74, 73 – 147).

Senior Michele Schambs turned in a 78 on the second day and is currently tied for 22nd at the event. She shot a 79 in the opening round and has a two-day score of 157 at the tournament.

Freshman Kelsey Koesters posted an 80 on Thursday and is tied for 57th with a 166 (86, 80) while sophomore Shelby Warner had an 83 is tied for 62nd with a 168 (85, 83).

Junior Hannah Schneider was also in action for Findlay and posted a 91 on Thursday. She is currently 71st at the tournament with a two-round score of 178 (87, 91).

Day three of the tournament will occur tomorrow with the final round slated for Saturday.
