Petty Earns All-American Honors

Junior Kasey Petty was tabbed an honorable mention All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) for her performance during the 2014-15 season. Petty's honor marks the first time an Oilers golfer has received the award at the NCAA Division II level.

Petty led the Oilers to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Division II National Championship this season. She tied for ninth at the event with a 72-hole score of 305 (78, 76, 80, 71), which was also the second lowest ever at UF. She set the 72-hole record with a 298 last year at the championship event. Her 71 on the final day of competition during the 2015 championship was also the fourth lowest round in school history.

The Groveport, Ohio native was a first team all-East Region pick in 2015 and also earned first team all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors. She tied for second at the NCAA DII East Regional with a 54-hole score of 226, the third lowest total in school history. She was one stroke off of first place, which Kelly Hartigan of Grand Valley State University captured with a 225 (75, 73, 77). She also placed fourth at the GLIAC Tournament with a three-round score of 230 (77, 76, 77).

Petty also won two events during the season, capturing first place honors at the Tiffin Invitational (4/13/2015) and Lake Superior State Invitational (9/16/2014).
