Oilers Take Second Place at Bing-Beall Fall Classic

The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up the Bing-Beall classic on Monday, Oct. 12 at the Findlay Country Club. The Oilers took second place as a team with a two-day combined score of 625.

Senior Kasey Petty earned runner-up in the event as her second-round score of 78 left her with a combined 152 for the event, just three shots off the lead.

Also earning all-tournament honors was junior Shelby Warner who finished in a tie for third with a 154 after carding a pair of 77's.

Freshman Makenzie Torres was able to finish in 13th place with a Monday score of 76, the third best score of the round, for a total of 159. Close behind Torres was teammate, freshman Samantha Hatter, who finished in a tie for 14th with a 160. She shot a 77 in the final round.

Freshman Mikaela Hickey ended the round with an 82 for a two-day total of 166 which palced her in a tie for 26th while sophomore Kelsey Koesters' 173 (round-two 87), placed her in a tie for 46th.

Also participating for the Oilers were senior Hannah Schneider (T52, 175), sophomore Courtney Piatt (61, 177), sophomore Haley Gray (T67, 181), and sophomore Erin Scoby (T70, 182).

Findlay will be back in action next Monday, Oct 19th as they travel to Dayton, Ohio for the Dayton Invitational.
