Petty Wins at Dayton, Oilers Place 4th

The University of Findlay women's golf team placed fourth at the Dayton Fall Invitational, which wrapped up second round action on Oct. 20 at the NCR North Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. The Oilers, who shot a 624 (312, 312), were paced by senior Kasey Petty, who won the tournament comprising of mostly NCAA Division I programs.

Petty won the tournament with a 6-over par score of 146. Petty finished the first round with a 1-over par score of 71 on Monday and then came back with a 5-over par score of 75 in the second round on Tuesday to take the title. She had four birdies and 24 pars over the course of the tourney.

Freshman Samantha Hatter tied for 20th with a 158 (80, 78) while junior Shelby Warner tied for 24th with a 159 (81, 78).

Freshman Makenzie Torres (80, 81 – 161), sophomore Kelsey Koesters (83, 81 – 164) and freshman Mikaela Hickey (85, 81 – 166) also competed for Findlay at the event.

The Oilers will be back in the spring.
