Oilers Complete Day 1 of Peggy Kirk Bell
The University of Findlay women's golf team completed the first day of the 2016 Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Feb. 29 at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, Fla. The Oilers, who are competing with some of the best NCAA Division II teams in the country, are in 16th place with a score of 638 (313, 325).
Senior Kasey Petty led the Oilers on the opening day with 153 (75, 78). Her total is good for 34th so far at the tournament.
Freshman Makenzie Torres is tied for 52nd with a 157 (78, 79) while junior Shelby Warner is tied for 60th with a 158 (77, 81).
Freshman Samantha Hatter (83, 87 – 170), sophomore Kelsey Koesters (85, 86 – 171), freshman Mikaela Hickey (92, 87 – 179) and senior Hannah Schneider (91, 89 – 180) are also competing for Findlay at the event.
Day two of the tournament will take place tomorrow.
