Perry Park, KY – The University of Findlay women's golf team had an exceptional performance at the Perry Park Spring Fling which took place in Perry Park, Kentucky. The event ran Saturday and Sunday, March 19-20, and was played on the three different Perry Park courses: Antlers Course, White Tail Course, and Buckskin Course. Teams played the courses nine holes at a time over the course of the three rounds. The nine-hole breakdown was as follows: Round 1 | Antlers (front 9), White Tail (back 9), Round 2 | Buckskin (front 9), Antlers (back 9), Round 3 | White Tail (front 9), Buckskin (back 9).

Findlay finished the event, which played host to 27 teams and 151 athletes, in fourth place overall, and second among nine Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) teams, with a team score of 912. It was clear who the top four teams in the event were as just 16 shots separated first from fourth place while the fifth place team was 31 shots behind Findlay with a 943.

The Oilers team score of 912 shatters the old 54-hole team record of 931 set at last year's GLIAC Championship. Along with a new 54-hole record, Findlay's 36-hole team score of 609 sets a new school record, breaking the previous mark of 610 which was set at the Bulldog Invitational in 2011.

Senior Kasey Petty (72, 72, 76) and junior Shelby Warner (75, 76, 69) paced the Findlay squad as they each found a spot in the Oilers' record book with their performances. Petty and Warner each tied for fourth place in the event with 54-hole scores of 220. They tied each other for the second-best three-round score in UF history, missing out on the record, a 219 by Michelle Schambs at last season's GLIAC Championship, by one stroke.

Along with the 54-hole mark, Petty's name goes atop the list for best score after 36-holes with a 144. That ties Schambs' record from the 2015 GLIAC Championship.

The final record breaking score went to Warner who, with a third-round score of 69 (-3), she ties Lauren Vogt for the lowest 18-hole score in school history. Vogt shot 69 at the Northwood Invitational in 2013.

Both Petty and Warner were named to the all-tournament team.

Freshman Samantha Hatter played well in the tournament as she finished her three rounds with a 235 (77, 77, 79). That score was good for 24th place.

The Oilers' scoring was rounded out by two more top-50 finishers with freshman Makenzie Torres shooting a 238 (80, 78, 80), good for 38th, and sophomore Kelsey Koesters shooting a 241 (82, 80, 79), good for 45th.

Competing as an individual in the event was freshman Mikaela Hickey and she finished in 60th with a 54-hole score of 246 (84, 79, 83).

Findlay will be back on the course on Sunday and Monday, April 3-4 when they play in the NC4K Classik at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio.
