Petty Takes Third at NC4K College Classic

Blacklick, Ohio – The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up the NC4K College Classic at the Jefferson Country Club on Monday, April 4. The Oilers finished second overall in the event, which featured 19 teams, with a team score of 643 (323, 320).

Senior Kasey Petty, who entered the day in sixth, finished tied for third overall with a 153 (77, 76). That score was just four shots off the lead. In Monday's round, Petty shot a one-under, 35 in her opening nine holes but ran into trouble on the back nine, carding three bogeys and a double-bogey in her last seven holes.

Junior Shelby Warner collected a top-ten finish with a 161 after shooting a round-two score of 82. She too struggled on the back nine after shooting just three over par on the front, but managed to finish in a tie for ninth.

Freshman Mackenzie Torres finished tied for 18th after shooting an 82 on Monday, giving her a two-round total of 165.

Sophomore Kelsey Koesters and freshman Samantha Hatter rounded out the scoring for Findlay with Koesters finishing in a tie for 26th and Hatter finishing in a tie for 31st. Hatter entered the day in 56th but improved by ten shots from yesterday's round to shoot an 80 while Koesters carded an 83 on Monday.

Findlay will get back on the course on Saturday and Sunday, April 9-10 at the Delores Black Falcon Invite in Bowling Green, Ohio.
