Petty Concludes Run at US Open

Kasey Petty, a recent University of Findlay graduate, tied for 153rd at the 2016 U.S. Women's Open at CordeValle in San Martin, Calif.

Petty, a two-time NCAA Division II All-American, posted an 83 on Friday during the second round of competition. She ended the tournament with a 36-hole score of 164 after carding an 81 during the opening round on Thursday.

The 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Golfer of the Year began the second day of competition 1-over par through her first five holes. The next four were more difficult however as she went 5-over to make the turn at 6-over par. She then had three straight bogeys before recording two straight pars. Petty finished her time at the U.S. Open by going 2-over par the rest of the way, which included a par on her final hole, a 553-yard par-5.
