Findlay Takes Sixth at Peggy Kirk Bell

Winter Springs, FL - The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Tuesday, March 14. As a team, the Oilers shot a 314 in the final round for a three-round total of 921 which was good enough for sixth place.

Senior Shelby Warner led the squad with a 77 on the final day, giving her a score of 229 for the tournament. She, along with freshman Meredith Wipper, finishe the event in a tie for 13th. Wipper carded a 78 on the final day.

Sophomore Samantha Hatter, who had the best round of the tournament for Findlay with her 73 in round one, finished the event with a 79 for a three-round total of 232. She finished in 22nd place.

Sophomore Makenzie Torres and freshman Samantha Kellstrom finished with rounds of 80 and 85, respectively. Torres finished with a 236 in a tie for 32nd while Kellstrom ended with a 243 which tied her for 46th.

Findlay's two athletes competing as individuals were freshman Mackenzie Keenoy and junior Kelsey Koesters. Keenoy ended with a 246 for the tournament after shooting an 84 in the third round. She finished in a tie for 51st while Kellstrom finished in 70th with a 258. She shot an 87 on the final day.

The next event for the Oilers is the Perry Park Spring Fling that will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 25-26 in Perry Park, Kentucky.
