Blacklick, OH – The University of Findlay women's golf team, ranked 11th in the country, finds themselves in third place after one round of the 18-team, NC4K Classic held at the Jefferson Country Club in Blacklick, Ohio. The par-72 course plays 5,901 yards. In the Sunday, April 2 round, the team put up a score of 315, ten shots out of second place.

Sophomore Makenzie Torres was the Oilers' top scorer as she fired a 73 (+1) in the first round and is in a tie for third, one shot off the lead. Senior Shelby Warner also finished in the 70's with a round of 79 (+7). She is in a tie for 18th.

Freshman Samantha Kellstrom, sophomore Samantha Hatter, and freshman Meredith Wipper are all within two shots of each other. Kellstrom carded an 81 (+9) and is tied for 31st, Hatter shot an 82 (+10) and is tied for 37th, and Wipper finished with an 83 (+11) and is in a tie for 39th.

Competing as an individual for Findlay, freshman Mackenzie Keenoy came into the clubhouse after putting up a score of 78 (+6). She is tied for 13th overall.

The second round will take place tomorrow, April 3.
