Oilers in 3rd After Day 1 in BG

The University of Findlay women's golf team is currently tied for third at the Dolores Black Falcon Invite, which wrapped up opening round action on April 8 at the Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio.

The Oilers shot a 318 on Saturday and tied with Bowling Green State University. In a tournament featuring predominately NCAA Division I programs, the Oilers will enter the final round of competition in contention for the tournament title. Ohio University leads the field with a 305 and Central Michigan University is in second with a score of 312.

Sophomore Makenzie Torres led the Oilers on day one and is tied for ninth with a 77. Junior Kelsey Koesters also had a great first day and is tied for 13th with a 79.

Senior Shelby Warner and freshman Meredith Wipper are tied for 19th as they both carded an 80 while freshman Samantha Kellstrom and sophomore Samantha Hatter are tied for 24th with an 81.

Freshman Mackenzie Keenoy is also competing for Findlay and is tied for 40th with an 84.

The second and final round of the tournament will take place tomorrow.
