Torres, Warner, Wipper Earn All-Region Honors

Senior Shelby Warner, sophomore Makenzie Torres and freshman Meredith Wipper were all named all-East Region by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on May 12.

Warner, the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Golfer of the Year, was named all-region last year as well. The first team all-conference pick ranks 43rd among all NCAA Division II women's golfer in scoring average at 75.89 strokes per round. She is also tied for 21st nationally with 62 birdies.

Torres, who was named first team all-conference and became the Oilers first women's golfer to capture an individual GLIAC championship earlier this spring, ranks 30th in the nation in scoring average at 75.54. She also recorded 74 birdies on the year, the sixth-highest total in the nation.

Wipper, who earned first team all-conference honors, was the 2017 GLIAC Freshman of the Year. Wipper had six, top-10 finishes this season and ranks 18th among all NCAA Division II women's golfers with 63 birdies.
