Senior Shelby Warner was named honorable mention All-American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) on

Warner, who was named first team all-East Region on May 12, ranked 36th among all NCAA Division II women's golfers in scoring average during the 2016-17 campaign at 75.89. Her 62 birdies were also the 30th-best total in the nation.

The Lima, Ohio native was also named the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Golfer of the Year in addition to earning first team all-league honors. She recorded eight, top-10 finishes during her final year with the program and scored two victories. Her first tournament win came at the Northwood Invitational (10/4) when she posted a two-round score of 144 (73, 71). She then followed with a win at the Dayton Invitational (10/18) when she carded a 141 (74, 67).

Warner, who joins Kasey Petty as the only Oilers' golfers to earn All-American honors, was also a second team all-GLIAC selection during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. She earned honorable mention all-league honors in 2014 as well.
