Oilers, Torres Win Great Midwest Fall Invite
The University of Findlay women's golf team won a rain-shortened Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Fall Invitational at the Findlay Country Club with a 27-hole score of 456. The Oilers beat the competition by 31 strokes as Trevecca Nazarene finished with a 487.
Junior Makenzie Torres led the squad and finished first at the tournament with a 27-hole score of 110 (+2).
Freshman Kristina Kniesly finished fourth with a 115 (76, 39) while sophomore Samantha Kellstrom finished fifth with a 116 (78, 38).
Sophomore Meredith Wipper posted a 117 (79, 38), which was good for sixth, while junior Samantha Hatter placed seventh with a 118 (81, 37).
Senior Kelsey Koesters competed for the Oilers as an individual and took ninth with a score of 121 (78, 43).
The Oilers will be back in action again on Oct. 8-9 when they host the Bing-Beall Fall Classic at the Findlay Country Club.
