Torres Takes 7th to Lead Oilers at Beall Classic
The University of Findlay women's golf team wrapped up the final day of their annual Bing-Beall Fall Classic on Oct. 9 at the Findlay Country Club. The Oilers took fifth place at the tournament with a 36-hole score of 628 (315, 313).
Junior Makenzie Torres fired an even-par round of 72 on the second day of competition and finished the tournament in a tie for seventh with a 149 (77, 72).
Sophomore Samantha Kellstrom tied for 20th with a score of 157 (75, 82) while sophomore Meredith Wipper tied for 27th with a 158 (80, 78).
Senior Kelsey Koesters tied for 36th with a 162 (82, 80), freshman Kristina Kniesly tied for 43rd with a 164 (83, 81), junior Samantha Hatter tied for 48th with a 165 (83, 82), sophomore Mackenzie Keenoy tied for 61st with a 170 (89, 81) and sophomore Mikaela Hickey tied for 64th with a 171 (89, 82).
The Oilers will be back at it again on Oct. 16-17 at the Dayton Invitational. The event will be held at NCR in Dayton, Ohio.
