Oilers Win at Dayton for 2nd Straight Year
The University of Findlay women's golf team won the Dayton Fall Invitational for the second straight season by posting a 36-hole score of 595 (293, 302), the third-lowest total in school history. The Oilers, defeated 14 NCAA Division I programs at the event, winning by one stroke over Western Illinois University.
Freshman Kristina Kniesly led the Oilers and tied for ninth at the event with a 148 (73, 75). Sophomore Meredith Wipper just missed out on a top-10 finish by tying for 11th with a score of 149 (73, 76).
Junior Samantha Hatter tied for 16th with a 151 (75, 76), junior Makenzie Torres tied for 21st with a 152 (72, 80) and sophomore Samantha Kellstrom tied for 46th with a 162 (87, 75).
Senior Kelsey Koesters, competing as an individual at the event, tied for 32nd with a 156 (76, 80).
The Oilers will close the fall portion of their schedule on Oct. 23-24 at the Trevecca Fall Invite. The event will take place at the Old Hickory Country Club in Nashville, Tenn.
