The University women's golf team is in third place after the first round of the Dayton Fall Invitational, which is being held at NCR Country Club in Kettering, Ohio. The Oilers fired a 298 on day one and are six strokes off the lead, which is being held by Youngstown State.

Senior Makenzie Torres led the Oilers and is at the top of the leaderboard after firing a 1-under par score of 69 while sophomore Kristina Kniesly is tied for eighth with a 4-over par score of 74 while freshman Jill Schmitmeyer is tied for 13th with a 5-over par round of 75.

Junior Mikaela Hickey is tied for 16th with a 6-over par score of 76 wile junior Meredith Wipper is tied for 21st with a 7-over par score of 77.

Senior Samantha Hatter is tied for 28th with a 78 while junior Samantha Kellstrom is tied for 33rd with an 80.

The tournament, which features all NCAA Division I schools except Findlay, will conclude tomorrow.
