Duffy Hired As Head Women's Lacrosse Coach

The University of Findlay athletic department has tabbed Julia Duffy as their first women's lacrosse coach in school history. Duffy will lead the Oilers in club competition during the 2011-12 campaign before competing at the NCAA Division II level the following year.

"I am very excited to hire Julie as our new head women's lacrosse coach," said Director of Athletics Steven Rackley. "She brings a great wealth of skills and experience to Findlay and is exactly the person we need to build a new program."

Duffy served as the head women's lacrosse coach at Ohio Wesleyan University since 2008, achieving a 21-25 record. She also currently serves as the head coach of the Midwestern Force Lacrosse Club, a position she has held since 2008.

"I am very excited for the opportunity to start this program at The University of Findlay," said Duffy. "This is a great school and I am anxious to get started as we build for the 2012 season."

She began her collegiate coaching career at Ithaca College, serving as a graduate assistant on the women's lacrosse staff after a successful playing career at Hartwick College.

Duffy graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from Hartwick in 2007. She then com¬pleted her master's degree in exercise and sports science, with a concentra¬tion in sport psychology, at Ithaca during the summer of 2008.

Duffy is a native of Westhampton, Massachusetts.
